PASTOR MELVIN RAYNELL RASCOE

Melvin Raynell Rascoe, the eldest child of Margaret Whitehead-Wiggins and Ret. MSGT Melvin D. Rascoe, was born on December 24, 1975 in (Martin County) Williamston, North Carolina. A native of Windsor, North Carolina, Reverend Rascoe was educated through the North Carolina public school system. He graduated from Bertie High School in June of 1994. Upon graduation, he furthered his education at ECPI College of Technology in Virginia Beach, VA where he majored in Office Technology and Computer Science.

As a child from his mother's womb until the early 80's, Reverend Rascoe was a member of Mount Zion United Holy Church (UHCA) in Williamston, NC under the leadership of the late Elder Henry C. Mervin. Reverend Rascoe was baptized in October of 1985 at the Zion Grove Missionary Baptiat Church in Kansas

City, MO. He received Christ as his Savior at age 11 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Laurel, Maryland. Upon moving to Windsor, North Carolina in 1987, he joined Zion Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church where he served on several ministries.

Upon moving from North Carolina to Baltimore in May of 1995, Reverend Rascoe joined Faith United Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Franklin Peterson, Jr. Reverend Rascoe grew in the word of God and later was called to preach the gospel. After a year and a half of studying at the Baltimore School of the Bible, Brother Melvin Rascoe officially became Minister Melvin Rascoe. He was licensed to preach at Faith United Baptist Church on Sunday, October 14, 2001.

On Sunday, January 16, 2004, Reverend Rascoe joined the Carter Memorial Church of God In Christ where he served as an associate minister and a member of the sanctuary choir under the leadership of Bishop Carl A. Pierce, Sr. Reverend Rascoe was ordained to the Gospel ministry on Sunday, January 30, 2010 in Baltimore, Maryland under the leadership of the late Bishop-Elect Walter W. Brown, Jr.

Reverend Rascoe was a member of Patrick Henderson and The Baltimore Urban Chorale (formerly Spirit 1400 WWIN CHOIR). Reverend Rascoe is a member of the Reunion Choir of Baltimore and the Maryland Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America,

found by nationally known gospel recording artist singer and preacher, Rev. James Cleveland. He serves as Chaplain for Baltimore City, which includes the Baltimore City Police Department ad he is the communications and intel router for the Eastern District assigned chaplains. He also serves as Chaplain for Baltimore County Police and Fire Department.

Currently Reverend Rascoe is in covenant fellowship with CCFM (Christian Covenant Fellowship Ministries) under Presiding Prelate, Bishop Michael A. Blue of Florence, SC. Reverend Rascoe is also a member of The Night Minister's Conference of Baltimore and Vicinity.

Reverend Rascoe has studied at the Baltimore School of the Bible, and Charles H. Mason Seminary School in Baltimore. Reverend Rascoe has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology from Eastern Theological Seminary, Lynchburg, Virginia and he has earned his second Bachelor's Degree from Lancaster Bible College in Greenbelt, Maryland on Saturday, may 13, 2017. Currently, he is a dual major student at Capital Bible  Seminary in Greenbelt, Maryland, where he is working on a Master's of Divinity Degree and a Master's of Arts in Ministry with a concentration in Pastoral Studies, which he will complete in the winter of 2018.

​Reverend Rascoe is currently employed by the United States Government, Social Security Administration in Baltimore, Maryland.

In March of 2011, Reverend Rascoe organized his church ministry. The Carpenter's Shop Ministries, where he served as  Senior Pastor for nearly 5 years. He served as Executive Director of Protocol and Pastoral Care at New Second Baptist Church in Baltimore for several months until he was called to the office of Senior Pastor. On Thursday, June 21, 2018, Reverend Rascoe was elected as the fifth Pastor of New Cornerstone Baptist Church, Baltimore, Maryland.

Reverend Rascoe earthly blessing is his son Christian.
